Angela Suthrave
Hello, meet your co-host, Angela Suthrave, a seeker of something on the horizon and a builder, who sees possibilities everywhere.
From studying nutrition at Indiana University to becoming a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator, her need for altruistic work, specifically around patient care, took root.
While working at hospitals, outpatient centers, and community centers, she was driven by the desire to scale impact. After earning an MBA from Robert H. Smith School of Business at University of Maryland, she joined Evolent Health post Series B and experienced the company's growth through IPO and acquisitions as the product manager of tools for care management, practice management, and member engagement.
Next she joined Somatus, a value-based kidney care company, as an early leader in population health. She led the Product and Innovation team, developing the clinical programs and the product to support the in-home model. Over the course of four years (2018-2022), Somatus grew from managing 400 lives in one state to 150k lives in 34 states. Today, as the VP of Product Management at Accolade, she oversees a suite of products for the front-line care teams, supporting care management, expert medical opinions, virtual primary care, and benefits navigation. Lastly, Angela serves as an advisor for product management and go-to-market strategy for early stage start-ups.
Off-duty, Angela shuffles between birthday parties and activities for her 2 boys, coffee being the primary fuel. She also enjoys going on family adventures with her husband, Ash. They reside in northern VA, where she has more houseplants than she remembers to water. She spends approximately 30 minutes a week asking Omar where in the world he is and trying to calculate the local time to schedule meetings.
The podcast Concept to Care, has been a long-standing aspiration. Angela hopes that by sharing stories of building in health tech, a community of innovators, builders, and entrepreneurs can learn from one another and continue the hard work to improve how health care is delivered.
